Re: What kind of rings do you use?
Just food for thought...I would bet my plastic rings to last me a lifetime.
I'm in a meeting with fellow Ring Frats and they deem wooden rings more grippy without chalk than plastic rings and more authentic.

Re: Front levers
Nice work! The straddle front lever varies in difficulty for each person because the more flexible you are the less weight is out in front of you. As an additional progression you can gradually straighten the legs from the advanced tuck position.

Re: What kind of rings do you use?
Mike is right, plastic rings don't hold chalk well at all but that may not be an issue to some. The benefits are that they're cheap and you can work around the chalk issue. Re: Gloves equipment etc

Re: Overtraining
I think the main thing for beginners to look out for with bodyweight training (particularly straight arm work) is tendonitis. In daily life, you don't put as much strain on your tendons compared to what is demanded through bodyweight training, so in the beginning you're VERY likely to develop tendon...

Re: Bars
At the moment I use the bar for OAC training and some front lever stuff but once I can perform those skills on the bar I'll take it to the rings and not look back.
I train on high bar but that's not really a strength-based apparatus.

Re: L sit
Haha, Spidey might have some tips, we will see. The tuck hold is a prerequisite to the l-sit. Train holding a tuck. The l-sit is when your legs are at a 90 degree angle to your body. Progress from the tuck hold to an l-sit only with a larger angle like 120 degrees and gradually decrease the angle. D...
